The police operation led by the Ministry of Security caused at least six injuries and several arrests during a march that took place at the Congress. The measures implemented included the use of tear gas, water cannons, and rubber bullets. The personnel from SAME and the Red Cross provided assistance to the demonstrators affected by the pepper spray and the blows received from police officers.
One of the injured during the repression was the graphic reporter Pablo Grillo, who suffered a skull fracture after being hit by a tear gas canister fired by the Federal Police. Grillo, an employee of the Deliberative Council of Lomas de Zamora, was urgently transferred to Argerich Hospital, where he is hospitalized in serious condition and is undergoing surgery due to the loss of brain mass.
The day of protests, which included the participation of unions, social groups, and football fans, took place not only at the Congress and Plaza de Mayo but also in several provinces of the country in support of retirees. The clashes between demonstrators and security forces were particularly intense outside the Congress.
