Anya Taylor Joy, the British-American actress raised in Argentina, presented her new film, "The Secret Abyss," where she co-stars with Miles Teller and is available on the streaming platform Apple TV. In a recent interview for Vogue Spain, the actress spoke about her work and her childhood in Argentina, fondly recalling the days when she would build nests for migrating birds and immerse herself in fantastical stories in the forest.
"The memories I have of my childhood in Argentina are related to moments when I knew that the birds were migrating that day and we had to build a nest so they would have a place to sleep, just as I told my classmates at school; or with my walks in the forest where I encountered fantastical stories always related to witches, vampires, or mermaids. That was my happy place," Anya mentioned.
The actress also revealed that she has a large number of job offers and although she can be in several of them, she sometimes finds it difficult to visualize them. Despite this, Anya confessed that she thoroughly enjoyed working on "The Secret Abyss" and feels fortunate to do what she loves in every project.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film tells the story of two snipers sent to an island, each from a control tower, with a plot that combines elements of black comedy, surrealism, and thriller. Anya Taylor Joy, after her acclaimed participation in the series "The Queen's Gambit," has established herself as one of the most sought-after actresses in the entertainment industry, with projects extending into late 2026.
