In the province of Corrientes, three towns are facing active wildfire spots, with firefighters working hard to control the fire. The joint efforts of volunteer firefighters, firefighters, and aircraft have been deployed in several points of the province to address the situation.
The coordinator of the Corrientes Emergency Operations Command, Bruno Lovinson, reported that on Thursday, some fire spots were deactivated, although others still require control efforts. Specifically, the fire is being fought in rural areas of La Cruz, Estación Solari, and Mantilla, with the participation of airtankers, volunteer firefighters, and fire brigades.
Lovinson also mentioned that two fire spots have been deactivated in Gobernador Martínez and Perugorría. In La Cruz, specifically in the Tres Cerros area, a wildfire affecting a pine plantation was reported, where volunteer firefighters and a helicopter from the National Fire Management System are working together.
Additionally, it was reported that in Aqupi more than 20,000 hectares have been affected by the fires. On the other hand, Civil Defense confirmed the presence of another fire in a eucalyptus plantation in Mantilla since Wednesday, with teams of firefighters from various localities working on site.
In Lovinson's words: 'Fires were recorded in the localities of Gobernador Martínez and Perugorría, but they were deactivated by the quick action of the different areas and institutions.' Efforts continue to control and extinguish the fires in the province of Corrientes.
