Argentina's Economic Outlook for 2025: Expert Insights

According to Miguel Kiguel, an economist and director of the consulting firm Econviews, the government of Javier Milei could have a great opportunity in international markets in 2025, which would have a significant impact on the Argentine economy. In an interview on CNN Radio, Kiguel mentioned that since the President's assumption of office, some issues in the country have been organized.

Kiguel emphasized that a more financially solid economy is currently observed, less vulnerable than at the end of 2023. He noted a reduction in inflation, reaching a rate that the population can tolerate. Additionally, he pointed out that there is a possibility for Argentina to return to the capital markets in 2025.

However, the economist also highlighted some negative aspects, such as the increase in poverty and unemployment, along with a decrease in economic activity. He recalled the lack of reserves and the debts for imports, stressing that this situation has been managed up to now.

Kiguel mentioned that Argentina's country risk is approaching levels similar to other countries in Latin America and expressed confidence that the International Monetary Fund will provide greater financial support to the Argentine government in the coming year. Although he warned that reserves are still negative and the situation remains fragile, he indicated that the economic scenario has begun to recover slowly, describing the current situation as a way out of "hell."
