Economist Warns About Economic Decisions Impact

Economist Juan Carlos de Pablo expressed his concern about the decisions made in August that could impact a deficit recorded in December or January. He emphasized the importance of correcting possible mistakes in time and advised the libertarian president to maintain caution, as it is easy to make mistakes when things are going well.

De Pablo praised the government's fiscal commitment and warned about the relevance of carefully reviewing decisions, especially in a context of economic growth starting in July. He pointed out the fall in country risk as significant local news and highlighted that the vision of recession does not reflect the overall reality, although he acknowledged that the situation may vary by sector.

The economist warned about the sharp decrease in the trade surplus and the need to pay attention to this indicator that could lead to complications in the future. In a talk for clients, he reiterated the importance of not increasing public debt despite the improvement in country risk, highlighting a key statement from the Central Bank and the Ministry of Economy in this regard.

De Pablo emphasized the importance of the government maintaining its firm stance on not increasing debt to finance current spending, avoiding temptation in case of greater attractiveness for foreign investors. Regarding the collapse of country risk, he pointed out that this situation could facilitate future negotiations with creditors.

Regarding the 2025 Budget project and discussions in Congress, the economist downplayed these debates, assuring that the government's credibility is based on its commitment to fiscal balance, using the case of Diana Mondino as an example.
