Ford Argentina Increases Ranger Production by 15%

Argentina's production of the new generation Ford Ranger pickup will increase by 15% next year, reaching 70,000 units due to growing demand in the region. The company communicated this decision to the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, along with the hiring of 160 new employees at the Pacheco plant. The Ranger, the brand's flagship model, has doubled its market share in key markets and ranks among the two best-selling mid-size pickups in South America.

The New Ranger is manufactured at Ford's Pacheco plant, where $660 million has been invested for a complete transformation of the industrial center with 4.0 manufacturing technology. This investment has also boosted the development of local auto parts and the production of a new series of engines for the Ranger. Launched in mid-2023, this new generation has set new standards in technology, performance, and safety in the mid-size pickup segment of the region.

More than 60% of Ranger production is destined for export markets such as Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Uruguay. The president of Ford Argentina and South America, Martín Galdeano, highlighted the success of the New Ranger in the region, with a significant increase in sales and a record month in Brazil. In Argentina, the Ranger has achieved its highest market share in the last decade, as it has in other markets.

In the country, pickup production has grown significantly in recent years, with the Ranger being an example of this boom. Although the primary focus of brands is on the export market, local sales also play an important role in this ongoing growth.
