New Salary Agreement for Train Operators in Argentina

The "La Fraternidad" Train Drivers Union has recently reached a wage agreement with the private freight companies NCA, Ferrosur, and FEPSA. This agreement, signed by union leader Omar Maturano and the authorities of the railway companies, establishes a cumulative increase of 16% to the wage grid for the months of October, November, and December.

According to La Fraternidad, the drivers of private freight trains will receive a non-remunerative increase of 9.7% in October, followed by 13% in November (with 9.7% corresponding to previous months and 2.95% applied to the November grid). The increase scheme concludes with a 2.71% increase in December, thus completing the wage structure for the last quarter of the year in the private sector companies.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that there will be a new meeting in mid-January to evaluate the differences with the December inflation, which will be published by INDEC. This meeting will discuss possible salary adjustments based on the evolution of prices and the cost of living in the country.
