
According to a report prepared by the consulting firms D'Alessio IROL and Berensztein, the concerns of Argentinians have decreased in October compared to previous months. Insecurity remains the main concern at 58%, followed by economic uncertainty at 57% and government adjustments at 52%. For the first time, inflation is not in the top 3 concerns, although it still worries 49% of respondents.
In November and December 2023, inflation reached its peak in the last year, being a concern for 90% of those consulted. Concern about economic adjustments rose by 14 points, reaching 52%, with a strong impact among opposition voters (92%). According to D'Alessio, concern about inflation has significantly decreased since evaluations began several years ago.
Additionally, economic uncertainty has shown a downward trend, decreasing from 71% to 58% since July. Although the president's approval rating has remained relatively stable, there has been an improvement in positive perception of the government, driven by belief in better management and control of inflation.
Eduardo D'Alessio mentioned that the perception of improvement in quality of life has increased, with more people believing they are in a better situation compared to last year. He also highlighted that there persists the belief that the country will improve in the next year, which is related to the better evaluation of the government's performance in the last 90 days, a period during which inflation has stabilized below 4%.
The October report from the Social and Political Mood Monitor revealed that the positive evaluation of the current economic situation compared to last year improved by 5 points, reaching 42%. Economic improvement expectations for the next year exceed those for deterioration, with 48% of the population believing that the economy will be better and 47% expecting it to be worse.
Regarding personal economic situation, 58% of respondents expressed that they are worse off than last year, although this concern has decreased from the initial 90% to 49%. The report highlights that the Government has experienced considerable relief due to the drastic decrease in inflation levels.
