Closure of Banks in Argentina for National Holidays

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) announced that on November 6 and 18 all financial entities in the country will remain closed. This measure was established through Communication C97002 issued on January 2, and means that no face-to-face customer service will be offered on the mentioned days.

According to the official calendar, during the fourth week of November there will be one day when banks will not open their doors, so users should carry out their banking transactions beforehand. November 6 is Bank Employee Day, which will cause the banks to close and affect some face-to-face operations and currency purchases, although ATMs will continue to function normally.

On the closing days, only electronic means such as ATMs, home banking, and digital payment systems will be available. In-person service at branches will resume on Tuesday, November 19, after the national long weekend.

On November 18, banks will close their doors for a day of rest, as the holiday of November 20 will be moved to this date. Furthermore, it commemorates the heroic deed of the soldiers of the Argentine Confederation, led by Juan Manuel de Rosas, who resisted the invasion of the Anglo-French army. This event is considered a symbol of independence, freedom, and national unity.

Regarding bank holidays for 2024, the calendar of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic includes holidays in June, July, October, and December of that year. For example, November 18 is celebrated as National Sovereignty Day. Banks will remain closed until November 19.
