Significant Wage Increase for Security Workers in Argentina

The National Labor Secretariat has homologated in recent hours the latest collective agreement for a group of workers who, with this increase, will have a basic salary above $1,200,000. This was confirmed by the Union of Security Personnel of the Argentine Republic (UPSRA), led by Ángel García, which reached an understanding with the business side consisting of an 11% raise until November on the August salary.

According to the stipulations, the increase will affect all private security guards in the country and will be paid in two installments: a 6% with the October salaries, to be received in November, and a 5% with the November salaries, to be received in December. Thus, the basic salary of a general guard will reach $658,000 with a attendance bonus of $140,000 in both months, while the non-remunerative allowance will rise to $330,000 in October and $385,000 in November.

The consolidated basic salary will be $1,155,000 and $1,210,000, respectively, to which additional amounts for seniority, geographical location, and category will be added. Furthermore, in October, the bonuses for airport personnel, for those in Neuquén, and for vacation staff will be increased, UPSRA confirmed.

"We are working hard to restore the salary of our affiliates and to ensure they do not lose their purchasing power against inflation," highlighted the union.
