The real estate market registered strong growth in September, with a 30.4% increase in the total number of property sales deeds compared to the same month last year. A total of 5,157 registrations were made, with a total transaction amount of $484.692 billion, an increase of 232.7%.
Regarding mortgages, 705 deeds were formalized in September, representing a 317.2% increase compared to the same month last year and a 74.3% increase in the year-to-date. The president of the College of Notaries, Jorge De Bártolo, highlighted that mortgage credit has been growing month by month, with a 500% increase in the last four months, reflecting a promising outlook for the sector.
De Bártolo also mentioned the possibility that the last quarter of the year could see increased activity in repatriation operations and mortgage obtainment, which could further boost the real estate market. The sector remains optimistic about the prospect of continuous growth in the number of formalized mortgages, which could lead to more sales in the future.
Given these encouraging data, questions are emerging in the market about the advisability of extending the deadline for capital amnesty participation, as there is an observed increase in the incorporation of projects that could benefit from these currencies. Despite a slight year-on-year decrease in the number of deeds compared to August, the real estate market shows signs of solid and sustained recovery.
