Economist Martín Redrado pointed out that Argentina is experiencing two different realities: one financial that is going well and another productive that is still waiting for a clear roadmap to develop. In this sense, he stated that it is necessary to give the government time to stabilize the macroeconomy and provide signals of long-term economic stability.
During an interview on Radio Rivadavia with journalist Ignacio Ortelli and the team of "Si Pasa, Pasa," Redrado analyzed the economic measures implemented by President Javier Milei. He emphasized the importance of expanding the tax base so that more citizens pay fewer taxes, as a way to modify the country's tax system.
Redrado praised the decision to balance the budget but warned that it is essential to establish a clear roadmap for productive sectors, with the goal of generating foreign exchange through exports and investments. Regarding the US dollar, he expressed the need for genuine dollars rather than financial ones, and believed that Argentina should consider adopting a floating exchange rate.
The former Central Bank president suggested taking advantage of the positive results of the capital amnesty to allow the dollar and the peso to coexist, thus facilitating the use of declared dollars for Argentines. In conclusion, Redrado stressed the importance of establishing economic measures that promote productive development and generate long-term confidence in the Argentine economy.
