ANSES: Unemployment Benefit payment continues in March with a 2.9% increase

The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) informed that during March, the payment of the Unemployment Benefit will continue, destined for workers who lost their formal employment. The benefit, as confirmed by the Argentine News Agency (NA), will have an increase of 2.9%, in line with the update established by the Mobility Law. With this increase, the maximum amount of the benefit will reach $352,400, under a scheme that adjusts to the value of the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Salary (SMVM). Temporary workers and those from the construction sector in similar conditions may also access it. The amount to be received is calculated based on 75% of the best average salary of the last six months worked, although with limits set by the SMVM. In addition to financial support, the benefit includes health coverage, pension contributions during the payment period, and, if applicable, the payment of family allowances. To initiate the process, applicants must meet certain requirements according to their employment situation: Permanent workers: at least 6 months of contributions in the last 3 years. Occasional or seasonal workers: less than 12 months worked in the last 3 years and more than 90 days in the last year. Construction workers: a minimum of 8 months with contributions in the last 2 years. The duration of the benefit varies between 2 and 6 months depending on the time worked, although people over 45 years of age can access a longer period. Necessary documentation To manage the benefit, the following must be presented: ID (original and copy). Documentation that proves the unemployment situation, such as a termination telegram, a letter, an expired contract, or judicial certifications in case of the employer's bankruptcy. In special situations, such as illness or accident, a medical certificate will be required to endorse the labor capacity. From ANSES they recalled that this benefit aims to provide temporary economic containment while workers seek reintegration into the labor market, while guaranteeing access to health and continuity in pension contributions.
