A company will invest US$ 3.4 billion in Argentina during 2026 to expand its logistics operation, strengthen its e-commerce platform, and deepen the development of its fintech ecosystem. As part of this plan, Mercado Libre will incorporate 1,900 new jobs in various strategic areas, consolidating its growth in the country. The investment, which includes both capital goods and operating expenses, aims to consolidate the company's presence in Argentina and sustain its long-term growth. "We are convinced to continue betting on Argentina. We will expand our logistics infrastructure to reach every point in the country faster and better, and at the same time, deepen financial digitization to promote greater inclusion and accompany the growth of millions of people and SMEs," said Juan Martín de la Serna, President of Mercado Libre Argentina. The funds will be destined to expand the logistics network, the development of new storage centers, the technological improvement of the platform, and the growth of Mercado Pago, which will continue to expand payment, credit, and savings solutions. The impact of the ecosystem is reflected in its numbers: more than 2.7 million Argentine SMEs and entrepreneurs sell through Mercado Libre. In 2025, the company exported services for US$ 878 million, strengthening the Knowledge Economy sector, and contributed US$ 1.999 billion in taxes, the highest historical level. Currently, Mercado Libre employs more than 16,700 people in Argentina and continues to drive job creation and the country's long-term economic development.
