"Chubut has the country's main uranium reserve and could take a strategic place in energy development," stated the governor in various interviews during his participation in the event. In turn, San Juan Governor Marcelo Orrego highlighted the role the province is playing in the development of copper-related projects and their potential impact on the national economy. Orrego stressed the importance of macroeconomic stability and legal certainty for mining development, noting that the Regime for Large Investment Incentives (RIGI) provides the competitiveness the sector needed to begin defining investments. "San Juan is today the province that concentrates more than half of the amounts requested in RIGI projects and gathers nearly 80% of the expected copper investments for the coming years, for more than 30 billion dollars," he stated. Finally, Orrego highlighted the climate of recovering confidence perceived during the Argentina Week in New York, where eleven governors participated along with national government authorities. "The most important thing we are seeing is a process of recovering confidence. And trust is earned in grams and lost in kilograms," he concluded, a phrase that generated applause among the attendees.
