The Ministry of Economy has extended the agricultural emergency and/or disaster due to drought until February 28, 2026, in nine districts of the 9 de Julio department in Santa Fe, according to the Argentine News Agency (NA). The measure applies to producers from Santa Margarita, San Bernardo, Villa Minetti, Pozo Borrado, Tostado, Logroño, Campo Garay, Esteban Rams, and Montefiore under Law 26.509 on agricultural emergencies. Resolution 218/2026 is based on Provincial Decree 3184/2025 and the recommendation of the National Commission on Agricultural Emergencies and Disasters, which analyzed the situation on January 21. The prolonged drought motivated the extension of the state of emergency, which had already been declared and extended by the Nation and the province through resolutions 1297/2024, 504/2025, and Santa Fe decrees. February 28, 2026, is also set as the end date of the productive cycle for affected farms to apply the tax and credit benefits provided for in the regulations. To access these benefits, producers must present certificates issued by the provincial authority accrediting that their fields are within the affected areas. The Santa Fe government must send the list of beneficiary producers to the Technical Secretariat of the National Commission, accompanied by copies of the respective emergency certificates. The resolution instructs official banks and the Tax Collection and Customs Agency to implement the benefits of Law 26.509 and authorizes the Secretariat of Agriculture to sign the necessary agreements, as confirmed by the Argentine News Agency (NA).
