Workers from at least 27 bus lines have gone on strike over wage issues, denouncing non-payment of both salaries and per diems. According to the Argentine News Agency, the lines affected by the strike action are those of Micro Ómnibus General San Martín S.A.C. (MOGSM) 333, 407, 437, and 707, and those of Micro Ómnibus Quilmes S.A. (MOQSA) 159, 219, 300, 372, 584, 603, and 619. Additionally, the lines of Empresa 216 are not operating: 236, 166, 634, 504 Merlo, and 504 Ituzaingó, as well as those of San Juan Bautista: 383, 500, 503, 506, 507, 508, 509, 511, 512, and 513. Meanwhile, it was reported that these lines have joined line 148, which belongs to El Nuevo Halcón and had already suspended service since last Thursday, January 29. Claudio, one of the delegates, stated that “the main responsible” for the strike reaching this point is “the employer,” at the same time requesting intervention from the municipal government “to try to unblock” the situation. He also confirmed that the strike will continue unless they are paid their salaries. “If they deposit the money, we’ll come out; the measure will be lifted when they deposit it,” he said in an interview with La Nación+, adding: “We have exhausted all measures before arriving at the strike.”
