The Ministry of Labor of the Province of Buenos Aires closed 2025 with a record of 79,041 reports resulting from the inspection work carried out throughout the year, with the aim of protecting and defending the labor rights of nearly 500,000 workers in Buenos Aires. According to data from the Undersecretariat of Labor Inspection, dependent on the portfolio led by Walter Correa, 32,813 establishments were inspected throughout the provincial territory between January 1 and December 18, reaching 499,997 people. The Ministry emphasized that the inspections aim to ensure compliance with current labor regulations, safeguard the integrity of workers, and improve working conditions. They also stressed that they do not pursue revenue-raising or persecution objectives against employers. The operations are carried out in an integral manner, adapted to the particularities of each productive sector, taking into account the specific risks and conditions of each activity. In the agricultural sector, inspections focus on labor registration, temporary and seasonal work, actual hours worked, access to adequate sanitation, drinking water, and personal protective equipment, as well as accommodation and transportation conditions where applicable. In commerce, the focus is on the correct registration of personnel, compliance with categories and salaries according to collective agreements, legal working hours and breaks, and safety and hygiene conditions, especially in customer service premises. In the construction sector, inspections prioritize the prevention of occupational risks, verifying the use of personal protective equipment, signage and site protection, safe scaffolding and excavations, adequate electrical conditions, and the correct registration of workers. In the industrial sector, both labor aspects and those related to safety and health at work are controlled, including machinery safety, collective protections, maintenance plans, staff training, and environmental conditions. In transportation, inspection tasks focus on compliance with regulatory working hours and breaks, preventing excessive driving hours, the correct registration of drivers (men and women), and general working conditions, with a direct impact on road and community safety. Of the total reports issued, 31.6% were formal warnings for employers to regularize detected situations; 28.7% were administrative verifications; 21.9% were infractions for anomalies; 17.6% were technical reports, while only 132 reports (0.2% of the total) led to suspensions. The Undersecretariat of Labor Inspection stated that its mission is to supervise working conditions and safety and health at work, issuing the necessary measures to protect the physical and mental integrity and dignity of workers, as well as to guarantee compliance with laws, decrees, collective agreements, and current regulations.
