The National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) will cease to provide regulated services and certifications related to model approvals and verifications of measuring instruments. This measure was formalized through Resolution 213/2025, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette. The resolution transfers these functions to testing laboratories and certification bodies accredited by the Argentine Accreditation Body (OAA). The measure responds to detected delays in processing applications and aims to simplify production processes, as indicated in the considerations processed by the Argentine News Agency. According to official information, with this modification, the body seeks to orient its resources towards scientific and industrial metrology and technological innovation. The implementation schedule establishes the cessation of services in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) on January 31, 2026. In the provinces of Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Chaco, Chubut, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Formosa, Jujuy, La Pampa, La Rioja, Misiones, Neuquén, Río Negro, Salta, Santa Cruz, Santiago del Estero, Tierra del Fuego, and Tucumán, the deadline is April 30, 2026. Finally, in Córdoba, Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis, and Santa Fe, the withdrawal of services will be effective on June 30, 2026. Work orders and certifications in force as of the resolution's date will remain valid until their completion. The institute must draw up a transition plan that includes communication to users and the operational closure of the affected areas.
