Morón, November 29 (NA) -- The mayor of Morón, Lucas Ghi, sent the 2026 budget proposal to the Deliberative Council, which prioritizes investment in health, education, culture, and sports, while intensifying action on works and security. According to the text, accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the project provides that the update of municipal rates will be in line with the projected 30% inflationary dynamics, and deepens the optimization of spending in the political branch, following the halving of the municipal cabinet. According to the budget's foundations, the drafting was 'not easy' due to the 'delicate social, economic, and institutional context that surrounds us,' the initiative states. In turn, it is also emphasized that health is a 'basic right of the inhabitants' and an 'obligation of the State to guarantee universal and equitable access to quality services,' with an approach that integrates the Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS), hospitals, and regional units. On security, it is stated that 'the population's demands on security issues have intensified' and that 'municipalities, far from disengaging from a provincial competence issue, have become increasingly involved,' and Morón 'has been no exception'. Coordination with the Province allowed for an increase in the municipal vehicle fleet and personnel, including the newly created Urban Guard, and to provide more tools to decentralized police posts. The project also recognizes that inhabitants 'are feeling in their own flesh the effects of the economic situation,' which impacts municipal coffers due to higher costs in purchases, contracts, and acquisition of supplies. Therefore, it is proposed that 'any proposal on rates and rights must start from the optimization of tax policy and the fight against tax evasion and avoidance'. In recent months, the Executive Branch made changes to the municipal organizational chart, with the elimination, merging, and creation of dependencies, within the framework of 'periodic modernization' to 'better serve our neighbors'. Similarly, the Deliberative Council redirected spending towards health, security, and infrastructure. Among the main modifications to the fiscal and tax ordinance are: the elimination of taxable events for advertising and propaganda, occupation of public spaces, and office rights; exemption from patents for municipalized vehicles from 1990 to 1997 and for motorcycles from 2006, among others.
