Techint CEO calls for dialogue with government to rethink industrial policy

Techint Group CEO Paolo Rocca called for a dialogue with the government to rethink an industrial policy linked to the reordering of the macroeconomy, while highlighting the importance of advancing tax and labor reforms to boost production and competitiveness. Participating in the 31st UIA Industrial Conference, the businessman stated that 'we are entering a new cycle of active intervention in an unstable world' and that 'as a country, it implies rethinking industrial policy.' Rocca emphasized that the industry needs to reduce the tax burden and informality, expanding the tax collection base with the absolute principle of fiscal balance and maintaining a limited but widely distributed state weight. He also pointed out that 'litigiousness, today we have 122,000 lawsuits, a record in progress on labor issues,' and that a labor reform should aim to reduce informality and litigiousness and allow flexibility to increase productivity. Finally, he urged 'not to hinder exports' and noted the need for logistics and infrastructure works.
