Horacio Marín, president and CEO of the oil company YPF, announced the signing of an agreement with ADNOC's investment arm for Argentine Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and stated that it will create over 50,000 new jobs. Marín explained that the agreement with ADNOC, a subsidiary with a production capacity of five million barrels per day, is a crucial step following the technical definition of the project with the energy company ENI. "We just signed an agreement with ADNOC a little while ago. We had already signed what is called Technical FID, and what was left was to go seek financing," he stated in an interview with Radio Rivadavia. The investment is broken down into approximately $17 billion for infrastructure and $12 billion for well drilling and plants. Final agreements are expected for early December, followed by the search for financing and execution from late 2026 or early 2027. Exports are projected to begin in 2030. The president of YPF highlighted that the project, which will exploit gas areas with oil presence, will generate significant revenue for the country: "The billing for Argentina from this project will be $200 billion over 20 years." The executive also explained that prices are determined by multiple factors such as the price of oil, the exchange rate, taxes, and the value of biofuels.
