CyberMonday Kicks Off in Argentina

The director of the Argentine Chamber of Electronic Commerce (CACE), Gustavo Sambucetti, stated that over 2 million people visited the official CyberMonday website. This event, organized by the Chamber, began at 00:00 today. Sambucetti indicated that compared to other years, the number of people who visited the event's official site remained 'steady' in relation to previous years. Among the standout sectors, he mentioned technology, clothing and footwear, travel, home and decoration, and health and beauty. 'What businesses do is target certain expensive products that they know have a certain profitability,' he declared in an interview with Radio Rivadavia. He also mentioned that there are businesses that offer more than 12 interest-free installments, reaching up to 18. Among the most searched products, air conditioners topped the list, according to the CACE director, followed by refrigerators, sneakers, cell phones, washing machines, and televisions. Regarding e-commerce figures, Sambucetti stated that during the first half, they billed $15 trillion, representing a 79% increase compared to the same period last year. Considering only the number of orders and requests, the amount rises to $150 million, a 46% year-on-year increase. CyberMonday started today and will run until next Wednesday, November 5th, with permanent offers and 'bomb' promotion activations at specific times, which can be consulted on the event's official website. It features the participation of more than 900 companies offering everything from cell phones and clothing to airline tickets.
