Argentina's Automotive Sector Sees Sales Growth

In April of this year, the automotive sector in Argentina recorded an increase of 9.8% in shipments compared to the same month of 2024. During the cumulative period from January to April, the terminals exported a total of 80,548 units, representing a decrease of 2.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Regarding wholesale sales, 52,621 units were sold to the dealer network, showing an increase of 9.8% compared to March and a significant growth of 134.4% compared to April 2024. From January to April, a total of 180,242 vehicles were delivered to the commercial networks, a figure that exceeds the units sold in the same quarter of the previous year by 77.1%.

The president of ADEFA mentioned that the sustained growth in sales is attributed to various factors such as product availability, the reduction or elimination of taxes, and greater financing offers. Despite this good performance in domestic sales, a decrease in exports is observed due to lower demand from some countries, external competition, and competitiveness challenges.

Regarding national vehicle production, 45,479 units were manufactured in April, showing an increase of 9.4% compared to March and an increase of 5.8% compared to the same month of the previous year. On the other hand, exports reached 22,628 units in April, with a decrease of 6.8% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 9.8% compared to April 2024.

The automotive sector continues to adjust to new market demands, with the introduction of new products and a gradual adaptation to the evolution of external demand. Despite existing challenges, efforts are being made in collaboration with the Government to correct imbalances and seek tools that promote sustained growth in a challenging international context.
