Esteban Klein is a prominent figure in the currency intervention of the Central Bank, known in the financial market as a 'Morganito'. As Deputy General Manager of Operations, he is responsible for directing 'the money table' and ensuring that the market cannot predict his actions.
Before taking on his current role, Klein was a Portfolio Manager in the United Kingdom and also worked at Credit Suisse and JP Morgan Argentina. His mission is to oversee the proper implementation of the Central Bank's policies regarding reserve management and internal credit regulations, as well as to direct and supervise currency operations.
Diego López Airaghi is Klein's right-hand man, followed by Sebastian Anigstein, Manager of Local and International Operations. Before Klein, Juan Basco held his position and was known for his relationship with Guillermo Moreno. Klein, on the other hand, has managed to conduct reserve management operations and operations in the currency and monetary markets efficiently.
Basco, for example, used to shout at brokers saying that there was no more money available to operate. His anecdotes, such as angrily questioning why a million dollars had been bought, are remembered in the financial market.
