The president of the Argentine Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CAME), Alfredo González, stated that the collective labor agreement is "the largest" in Argentina. In an interview on the program "If It Happens, It Happens", González explained that the institute has never forced any merchant to pay.
Today, a new survey on retail sales of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in February, prepared by CAME, was released. According to the report, retail sales recorded a 24% increase compared to the same period last year. Despite this growth, it was not enough to recover from the decline in February 2024, which was 25.5%.
This 24% increase in retail sales represents the third consecutive year-on-year increase, following rises of 17.7% in December and 25.5% in January. Despite these advances, last month's performance did not manage to fully offset the decline in sales in February 2024.
The president of CAME highlighted the importance of the collective labor agreement as a tool for establishing working conditions in Argentina. In this regard, González emphasized that at no time has any merchant been forced to pay by the institution he represents.
