Milei Focuses on the Fight Against Inflation in Argentina

In an opinion column published in La Nación, Javier Milei expressed his commitment to eradicating inflation and revitalizing the Argentine economy. He highlighted that the flow of money issuance has been cut off, eliminating the deficit of the National Treasury and the quasi-fiscal deficit of the BCRA. For Milei, this measure is crucial to end inflation and its devastating repercussions on the most vulnerable sectors of the population.

Regarding state financing, Milei assured that explicit taxes will be replaced by an unlegislated implicit tax, denying that this implies an increase in gross debt. The money received from the International Monetary Fund will be allocated to stabilize the Central Bank and put an end to inflation.

The president argued that the agreement with the IMF is a necessary step to restructure the functioning of the monetary authority. The injection of funds by the IMF will be used to reduce the Treasury's debt with the BCRA, keeping gross debt stable and promoting financial stability. Milei stated that the primary objective is to restore the assets of the Central Bank, marking the beginning of a new era without inflation in the collective memory.
