
Industrial production increased by 7.1% in January, according to the manufacturing industrial production index (IPI manufacturing) published by INDEC today. This increase represents growth compared to the same month of the previous year. However, in January, the seasonally adjusted index showed a negative variation of 1.3% compared to the previous month.
Among the sixteen divisions of the manufacturing industry analyzed, eleven showed year-on-year increases. Some of the sectors that contributed most to this growth were "Food and Beverages" with an increase of 6.5%, "Chemical Substances and Products" with 10.5%, and "Machinery and Equipment" with 28.5%.
Also highlighted were sectors such as "Clothing, Leather, and Footwear" with an increase of 24.9%, "Motor Vehicles, Bodies, Trailers, and Parts" with 23.2%, and "Furniture and Mattresses, and Other Manufacturing Industries" with 25.1%, among others. These figures reflect significant growth in industrial production in various key areas of the economy.
