On Friday, San Lorenzo announced that the legal and accounting audit conducted last year revealed that the new management led by Marcelo Moretti inherited a debt exceeding 30 million dollars. The club commissioned the audit on March 15 to the Cangueiro Ruiz Abogados and Quian y Asociados firms, who later added another team to work in parallel.
"It was not easy to complete the work, and there were setbacks that caused delays from the moment this management decided to commission the audits," they stated in the statement. The audit described and confirmed the multiple debts of San Lorenzo and how they originated. The commitment is to protect San Lorenzo and its assets, owned by all its members, as the first step to address the debt.
"The club suffers from and faces these debts day by day, lifting one embargo after another, paying inhibitions in each transfer market and litigating in 183 legal cases for an amount exceeding 30 million dollars," they added. The statement harshly criticized the previous management of Horacio Arreceygor, considering it a "situation of seriousness caused by the mismanagement of the previous administration."
The audit does not resolve the economic problems of the club, which this management has been addressing since taking over by constantly paying debts.
