Interest Rate Reduction in Argentina

The national government has reduced the interest rate for tax obligations in response to the inflation slowdown. Resolution 199/2025 from the Ministry of Economy, published today in the Official Bulletin, establishes the new rates to be applied to tax, customs, and social security obligations.

Specifically, the monthly compensatory interest rate in pesos will decrease from 7.26% to 4%, the monthly punitive rate in pesos from 8.38% to 5%, and the monthly reimbursement rate in pesos from 2.60% to 0.75%. The rates in dollars will remain unchanged.

Additionally, the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) has updated the financing interest rate for payment plans. Starting March 1, 2025, the amount will equal, in all cases, 4% of the compensatory interest rate set by the Ministry of Economy.

The objective of this measure is to provide a more predictable scheme for taxpayers, ensuring fixed rates. According to the Ministry of Economy, this action is part of the significant slowdown in the inflation rate, resulting from the economic measures implemented.
