Transformation of the National Bank into a Public Limited Company

President Javier Milei signed a decree before traveling to the United States that transforms the National Bank into a corporation. This measure was announced by the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, who shared the news on social media along with a message that included the phrase 'God bless the Republic of Argentina' and his traditional 'End'.

Initially, the government had included the National Bank in the list of companies to be privatized, but it was later excluded from that list by a decision of Congress. The bank indicated that the transformation into a corporation is considered an 'essential' step for the National Bank to continue providing loans in support of SMEs and families.

According to representatives of the National Bank, the expansion of loans will require an increase in the bank’s funding, which could be achieved through the opening of its capital. To carry out this process, it is essential for the bank to become a corporation and obtain the corresponding approval from Congress.
