Transparency Concerns Over $LIBRA Cryptocurrency

Radical deputy Fernando Carbajal expressed his concern about the transparency of Javier Milei's government regarding the $LIBRA cryptocurrency scandal. In an interview for Splendid AM 990, Carbajal accused the government of a lack of commitment to transparency, stating that the self-investigation into the $LIBRA case was not enough. According to the deputy, the Executive prefers secrecy and to handle situations by decree, as exemplified by the recent decision to turn the National Bank into a Corporation.

Carbajal, who is part of the Democracy for Ever bloc, is promoting the creation of an investigative commission in the Chamber of Deputies to clarify the $LIBRA case. Additionally, he will demand the presence of government ministers in the chamber to provide explanations. The deputy warns that they will oppose privatization, although he acknowledges the need to rehabilitate the National Bank so that it can contribute to the country's development.

The legislator expressed his surprise at the society's tolerance towards practices such as political defection and the buying and selling of deputies and mayors. Carbajal mentioned the case of former senator Edgardo Kueider, detained in Paraguay with a considerable sum of money, to illustrate his point of view regarding the lack of integrity in politics.

Regarding the Clean Slate project, Carbajal doubts it will be approved in the lower house, as he believes the Government only uses it as a bargaining chip to achieve the appointment of judge Ariel Lijo to the Supreme Court. The deputy stated that the Government is not interested in transparency and that many legislators may be acting for interests other than those they preach.
