
In 2024, the use of mobile devices for purchases in Argentina grew significantly, reaching 80% of transactions, while purchases made from computers accounted for only 19% of acquisitions. These figures reflect the ongoing transformation of the digital payment ecosystem in the country.
According to an analysis conducted, 53% of transactions had some type of discount or promotion, which further stimulated purchases among Argentine consumers. Regarding financing preferences, 59% of Argentines opted to pay for their purchases in full, 25% did so in three installments, 13% in six payments, and 2% in twelve or more installments.
E-commerce experienced a 30% growth in sales during 2024, reaching record billing levels according to a private study conducted on digital stores. Throughout the year, stores on the Tiendanube platform across the country billed more than one billion pesos, representing a 248% increase compared to 2023.
The annual e-commerce report reveals that more than 17 million transactions were made with an average ticket of $68,088. Additionally, categories such as clothing, health and beauty, and home and decoration showed significant sales growth during the year.
Franco Radavero, country manager of Tiendanube Argentina, mentioned that e-commerce has consolidated as one of the most dynamic sectors of the Argentine economy and has experienced notable growth throughout 2024. This positive trend is expected to continue in 2025 with greater adoption of advanced technologies to drive its development.
Regarding payment methods, credit cards remained the preferred option for 56% of Argentines, closely followed by bank transfers and payments with account money. The diversity of consumption habits highlights the importance of offering multiple payment alternatives that fit customers' preferences.
For the future, it is projected that emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, chatbots, augmented reality, video commerce, voice commerce, and live shopping will transform the online shopping experience in 2025. These tools allow for a closer and more authentic interaction between brands and consumers, thus strengthening the bond between them.
