The leader of the Civic Radical Union, Agustín Rombolá, announced that they plan to file a criminal complaint against President Javier Milei for his alleged participation in what he described as "the largest fraud in the history of the country." Rombolá pointed out that this would be the third time Milei has promoted a cryptocurrency in recent years, marking this as the first occasion since his arrival in the presidency.
In his statements to Radio Splendid, Rombolá stated that the owner of the cryptocurrency had met multiple times with Karina Milei and on two occasions with the president. As Rombolá quoted: "Only Milei's tweet is a business. If it hadn't existed, the crypto would have remained almost at 0." The UCR leader expressed his concern by suggesting that this activity could be related to a Ponzi scheme.
The announcement of the intention to file the criminal complaint is made with the aim of investigating these practices more thoroughly and determining if laws have been violated. Rombolá emphasized the seriousness of the situation by labeling it as "the largest fraud in the history of the country," making clear the critical stance of the Civic Radical Union against these financial activities related to cryptocurrencies.
