The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) expressed its concern about President Javier Milei's decision to promote the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, labeling such an act as "reckless." In a press release, the labor organization expressed alarm at the promotion of a questionable digital asset from the official accounts of the president.
In response to the promotion of the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, the CGT stated that while the President presented the initiative with the premise of encouraging Argentine economic growth, this action turned out to be a failed and unsupported financial maneuver. The Confederation emphasized the importance of clarifying the circumstances that led Milei to promote this cryptocurrency.
In this context, the CGT demanded a complete clarification of the facts, considering the seriousness of the situation involving a significant action carried out from the highest political office, which is the National Executive Power. Furthermore, the labor union emphasized that the subsequent public apology and regret from the president do not exempt him from institutional responsibility regarding this matter.
