Socialist deputy Esteban Paulón announced that he will present a request for impeachment against President Javier Milei for promoting the Libra token. Meanwhile, former president Cristina Kirchner criticized Milei, calling him a "crypto-swindler" due to the controversy generated by the promotion of a digital asset.
Kirchner expressed her disapproval of Milei and accused him of turning Argentina into a casino where the president is the dealer. In this sense, she emphasized the president's responsibility in promoting the private cryptocurrency.
Guillermo Montenegro, mayor of General Pueyrredón, stated that Milei has committed no crime. However, Paulón and Píparo, among others, consider that the president's actions regarding the Viva la Libertad project have been questionable and even fraudulent, labeling the situation as a Ponzi scheme.
Criticism has intensified on social media, where various politicians and public figures have expressed their discontent with the situation and demanded accountability from Milei. The controversy surrounding the Viva la Libertad project and the $LIBRA currency has sparked a strong debate in the political and financial spheres of the country.
