The salary index in Argentina grew by 3.1% in December 2024, surpassing inflation, with increases in all labor sectors.

In December, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec), salaries increased by 3.1% compared to the previous month. During that month, the Salary Index experienced a monthly increase of 3.1% and an annual increase of 145.5%, surpassing the inflation rate in both cases, which was 2.7% in December and 117.8% for the entire year.

The monthly increase in salaries was due to increases of 2.8% in the registered private sector, 1.7% in the public sector, and 6.8% in the unregistered private sector. In annual terms, the Salary Index showed an increase of 145.5%, resulting from increases of 147.5% in the registered private sector, 119.3% in the public sector, and 196.7% in the unregistered private sector.

The percentage change in December 2024, as in previous years, compared to the same month of the previous year was equivalent to the percentage change accumulated throughout that year.
