In Garuhapé, a missionary city 100 km from Eldorado, a vehicle control was set up on National Route No. 12, specifically at kilometer 1457, at the entrance to the "Papel Misionero" area. During this control, the Argentine Naval Prefecture, with the help of Osa, a trained dog to detect narcotics, managed to identify a truck that appeared to be for moving, but was actually transporting 3,812 kilograms of marijuana.
The marijuana was distributed in 63 boxes that contained nearly 5,000 packets of the drug and three bags of buds. As a result of this discovery, the driver of the truck, a Paraguayan national, was detained, and the drug, valued at more than 10.27 billion pesos, was seized. Additionally, more than two million pesos in cash, two mobile phones, and the vehicle used for drug trafficking were found.
The operation involved the Federal Court of Oberá, led by Dr. Alejandro Gallandat Luzuriaga, and the on-duty secretary Dr. Vilma Ruiz Díaz. The marijuana shipment had been brought in from Paraguay and was intercepted on its way to the Argentine coast, thanks to prior investigation work that provided information about the possible transport of narcotics.
The operation involved Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Delegations from Eldorado, the Alto Paraná Zone Prefecture, the Libertador General San Martín Prefecture, the Northeast Joint Operational Group (GOC-NEA), the Albatros Group, and Border Operations forces from Alto Paraná.
