Additional Salary for Work in Cold Climates

The UOCRA union announced that construction workers working in cold areas will receive an additional payment in their salary. The update of the salary scales will remain for the month of February, keeping the amounts received in January, which were last updated in December.

In the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), the province of Buenos Aires, and other provinces in Zone A; Neuquén, Río Negro, and Chubut in Zone B; Santa Cruz in Zone C; and Tierra del Fuego in Zone C Austral, the following salary increment values were established for different categories: Specialized Official, Official, Semi-official, Assistant, and Watchman. The wages for construction workers will remain unchanged during the second month of the year.

The last UOCRA bargaining took place in November of last year, where a 12.5% increase was agreed for the period of October to December, which was broken down into increases of 4% in October, November, and December on the basic wages in those months. Additionally, a non-remunerative sum of $150,000 was established, paid in six biweekly installments of $25,000 each. The agreement included the creation of a Special Commission to monitor the economic and social impact of the agreed adjustments.

Collective Labor Agreement No. 76/75 regulates salary increases for construction workers, differentiating categories and geographical zones. Despite negotiations, no new salary agreement was reached for the month of February, so salaries will continue to be based on the previously established values.
