Argentina's Mining Sector Surges with Record Exports

The Argentine mining sector has shown outstanding performance throughout the year, as confirmed by the data released by the Secretariat of Energy regarding mining exports. During the first eleven months of 2024, the country recorded mining exports totaling USD 4.115 billion, representing a 15% increase compared to the same period last year.

It is projected that, thanks to the implementation of the Large Investments Incentive Regime (RIGI) and greater macroeconomic stability, the mining sector will continue to experience positive growth in 2025.

In the breakdown by type of minerals, in November 2024, metallic minerals stood out, representing 84.0% of total exports, followed by lithium, which contributed 13.4%. The remaining 2.6% of exports corresponded to other minerals.

In the words of a representative from the mining sector: "These results demonstrate the potential that the mining industry has in Argentina and the importance of continuing to promote the development of investments and a favorable economic policy for the sector."
