During the early hours of this Thursday, the Entre Ríos Police were alerted about the landing of a plane in a field in the Islas del Ibicuy department. According to reports, the final destination of the aircraft was not Entre Ríos, as it had to make an emergency landing due to lack of fuel.
A couple was on board the plane, trying to flee but were eventually arrested. They are a Brazilian man and a Bolivian woman. The investigation of the case is ongoing through the Federal Justice. The collaboration of the National Gendarmerie allowed the Entre Ríos Police to conduct a search of the plane, where 352 packages of cocaine were found, with a total weight of 359 kilograms.
Minister Roncaglia noted that the amount of illegal drugs seized corresponds to more than four million doses of cocaine, with an approximate value of 2,200,000 dollars in Argentina and about 14,000,000 euros in Europe. According to initial investigations, everything indicates that the aircraft originated from Bolivia and would have traveled about 1,500 kilometers.
In light of these events, the on-duty federal judge, Dr. Analía Ramponi, has taken the appropriate procedural measures.
