The presidential spokesperson announced that a measure has been worked on and will be implemented starting next Monday and will extend until the end of June 2024. This measure implies the reduction of withholdings on the main crops in Argentina. For example, soybeans will decrease from 33% to 26%, and their derivatives will drop from 31% to 24.5%.
The governor of Chaco, Leandro Zdero, expressed his support for this initiative, highlighting that it is a benefit for producers who want to work their lands and build a prosperous future. Zdero emphasized the importance of establishing an alliance with the agricultural sector and leaving behind the negative vision that existed of them in the past.
The official communication was led by Manuel Adorni and the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo. This decision was made prior to the meeting with the Liaison Table scheduled for next week. In addition to the reduction of withholdings on soybeans and their derivatives, withholdings on regional economies will be eliminated.
Other announced reductions include the decrease in export duties for crops such as wheat (from 12% to 9.5%), barley (from 12% to 9.5%), corn (from 12% to 9.5%), sunflower (from 7% to 5.5%), and sorghum (from 12% to 9.5%).
