Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff met with Argentine President Javier Milei during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. In this meeting, Benioff announced a USD 500 million investment in Argentina. Salesforce, a company dedicated to technological solutions for customer relationship management (CRM), is focused on helping organizations adapt to the world of artificial intelligence.

In this meeting, Milei expressed his intention to eliminate the currency controls, considering them as a tool that undermines property and freedom. The president announced that his administration is negotiating with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to establish a disbursement schedule that facilitates the removal of the controls. Additionally, the possibility of a free trade agreement with the United States was mentioned, addressing issues such as terrorism and drug trafficking in Mercosur.

Salesforce emphasized its commitment to developing local talent and the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Argentina. Despite announcing the multi-million dollar investment, no further details were provided. Currently, Salesforce has around 72,000 employees globally, including its office in Argentina.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Benioff congratulated Milei on his recent success and mentioned that during the meeting, an assistant introduced the CEO to the Argentine president. Milei responded enthusiastically, calling the situation "fantastic." Benioff highlighted the importance of removing capital controls for the country's economic recovery. The president, in turn, expressed his willingness to consider leaving Mercosur if the situation requires it, although he also pointed out the possibility of advancing trade agreements without leaving the regional bloc.
