The multinational company Mercado Libre, led by Marcos Galperin, has launched a new update on its e-commerce platform that allows the creation of a personalized online store for each user. To take advantage of this feature, users will need to update their information and register for a new tool. A company spokesperson stated: "Our priority is to facilitate the growth of entrepreneurs with tools tailored to their needs."

The update entails replacing the Mercado Shops option with a new alternative called My Page, scheduled to be implemented by the end of December 2025. With this change, Mercado Libre aims to offer entrepreneurs a more personalized and optimized platform to manage their online businesses, allowing a year for them to transition.

Among the benefits of Mercado Libre's new sales platform are three free months for sellers to try My Page, customized stores, exclusive promotions, greater control over operations, and an overall better experience for sellers. The new alternative will also offer more features than Mercado Shops, a more advanced aesthetic with brand identity, a personalized follower base to build customer loyalty, and integrated operations in one place to facilitate inventory, shipping, and payments.

Despite promises to simplify and improve the seller experience, the transition to the new platform presents challenges such as adapting to the new features, transferring data between platforms, the risk of increased competition, and the possibility of user migration to other stores dissatisfied with the changes.
