In Uspallata, at Mahuel Turata in Millcayac, the place of the puma where it sleeps, may it awaken and read the list of detainees:

Nahuel Rodriguez Hueique Rodriguez Leandro Ruiz Pablo Perez Luis Mauricio Abatte Federico Echeverria Nahuel Basualdo Walter Rodriguez

The name of the ninth is missing because I lost signal on the way back home.

But it is enough for me to look at any glacier—any one of them is good—to have the simple certainty that the snow is pure, and it is worth fighting for that alone.

The recent flood left us with a very concrete and tangible feeling of how crucial the difference is between clean and toxic mud when, in a single storm, what used to fall as rain in an entire year comes crashing down on you.

A series of irregularities detailed in the communiqué from the political prisoners defending water, who now number 32.

As I write these lines, the habeas corpus hearing is taking place in person with the entire team of lawyers, instead of the virtual hearing with a single lawyer as they initially wanted to do.

Let the whole country be attentive, because in a democracy, a habeas corpus is like a glass of water that is not denied to anyone.

And we ask ourselves once more, into what era of ice are we entering?

A chronicle of the political persecution of the defenders of 'Pure Water of Mendoza' during the march for the glaciers of the Andes Cordillera, Uspallata, February 4, 2026.

To the quiet noise that broke the mountain's silence, videos of the march at kilometer zero of the city arrived.

He's a great guy.

The list is: Nahuel Hue, read Pablo Perez, etc.

Nahuel Basualdo, Nahu, is from Art for Water.

Two blocks of people, filling the entire sidewalk.

See?

And so with all of them.

Once again, the uniformed police were without identification, once again they used excessive force, once again they went far beyond the practices and protocols acceptable for a police force that could pride itself on being democratic.

Even the prosecutor was surprised that they brought them in for detention when there was neither an order nor a formal accusation.

How it can happen to a Legislature, or to any other public building that has become a metaphor for an open-pit mine, or a crater, as said in good criollo.

Nahuel Hue in good Mapuzungun means 'place of the puma'.

We can enter the ice age because of the totalitarianism and toxicity that this winter installs in our daily lives, leaving cold hearts.

Or we can enter the ice age out of respect and love for the pristine glaciers; from which all life depends, from where the pure water that feeds this courage with which we are going to raise another possible world, of course.

It's in your hands.
