An American tourist who had been missing since Thursday, March 12, when he went for a walk in Ushuaia, was found dead. The main hypothesis being considered is that he suffered an accident during the trek on the trail leading to Laguna Esmeralda. Sean Christopher Bartel was 37 years old and was from the United States. He had arrived in Argentina on March 3 and had visited several points in the country, such as Buenos Aires and El Chaltén. It was learned that days earlier he had moved to Ushuaia, where he rented accommodation on Lirios de los Valles street at 1600. With no news, a search began that concluded this Sunday when the tourist was found next to a trail that leads to Laguna Esmeralda, one of the most important attractions in the city of Tierra del Fuego for trekking. A detail provided in the case is that the day before his disappearance he rented a white Toyota Etios car, which was found this weekend in a parking lot next to National Route 3, where the trail begins. With this information, various operations were initiated that allowed, in recent hours, to find Bartel's body lifeless, the Argentine News Agency reported. For the moment, the results of the autopsy have not been released to know how the tourist died.
