The neurosurgeon who operated on Diego Armando Maradona for the subdural hematoma at the Olivos Clinic will testify tomorrow in the trial for the soccer star's death. This is Pablo Rubino, the doctor who surgically intervened on the ex-player for the cited hematoma on November 3, 2020, 22 days before his death in the closed neighborhood of San Andrés de Tigre.
Judicial sources reported that a raid was carried out at the Olivos Clinic with the aim of obtaining computer records and documentation related to Maradona's treatment and hospitalization between November 3 and 11. The operation was necessary due to the suspicion of a lack of evidence contributions involving those accused in the case.
Personnel from the Cybercrime Directorate interviewed the responsible doctor, Juan Molinos, the manager of the clinic, Pablo Castiello, and the representative of Swiss Medical, Claudio Gabriel Ravinovich, who authorized access to the computer systems. Relevant files on digital support and physical documentation for the investigation were seized.
In the trial for Maradona's death, three witnesses have been summoned to testify at the sanatorium where the soccer player died. The judges have decided to carry out a procedure at the said clinic to obtain relevant information, including witness statements from three physicians regarding the pre-surgical analyses performed on Maradona.
On the defendants' bench are Leopoldo Luque, neurosurgeon and personal doctor of Maradona, Agustina Cosachov, psychiatrist, Ricardo Almirón and Nancy Forlini, among others, all accused of homicide with eventual intent, a crime that carries sentences of between 8 and 25 years in prison.
