Argentina officially recognized Palestine as a state on December 6, 2010, however, the municipality of Tigre seems to ignore this information.
The event is called by the newly formed Committee for Solidarity with Palestine of Tigre and San Fernando and follows the September rally under the slogan "from all rivers to all seas".
Below we share the call to action being distributed.
THE FLAG OF PALESTINE FLIES AT THE UN, WE WANT IT IN TIGRE TOO
December 6, 11:00 AM Tigre Art Museum
After the day of water and land mobilization to denounce the genocide of the Palestinian people by the State of Israel, we presented a petition to the Honorable Deliberative Council of Tigre, requesting that the Palestinian flag be incorporated among the flags of the nations.
The call also includes the request already presented to the Tigre Deliberative Council for the Palestinian flag to be flown on the Avenue of Flags, the entrance to Tigre where the flags of UN member countries are located, but not that of Palestine, despite being recognized by more than 150 of those countries and being an observer member since 2012.
For this reason, we are calling for a new day of struggle for land and water.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will prevail.
The organizers note that the Palestinian flag flies on similar monuments and has recently been incorporated in countries that have just recognized Palestine, as was the case with Canada.
We consider it important to make visible and enforce the right to Independence, Self-Determination and Sovereignty of the Palestinian people and their consequent status as a state.
As happened in September, a new water caravan is coming this Saturday, December 6th, at 11:00 AM at the Tigre Art Museum.
The whole world is witnessing the war crimes perpetrated by the State of Israel, and there will be no forgetting or forgiveness.
