In a tax enforcement operation carried out in Tigre, the Revenue Agency of the province of Buenos Aires (ARBA) discovered a serious tax irregularity in two luxury towers belonging to the exclusive Remeros Beach complex. Despite having 30,000 square meters of construction, the buildings Sky One and Sky Two were still taxed as vacant lots, thereby avoiding the corresponding Property Tax payment.
These constructions, which offer high-end services such as panoramic terraces, heated pools, state-of-the-art gym, and private security 24/7, have a value of U$S 4,000 per square meter. However, their owners continued to pay taxes as if the towers were not built.
ARBA head Cristian Girard highlighted the seriousness of this tax evasion in public finances, noting that when those with greater economic capacity evade their obligations, it worsens the social crisis and harms those who need it most. Girard also pointed out the project developers, indicating that it cannot be allowed for projects of that level to continue being taxed as vacant lots.
In 2025, more than 280,000 square meters that were not correctly taxed were regularized. ARBA has intensified controls to ensure that evaders fulfill their obligations, just like the rest of the Buenos Aires taxpayers who pay their taxes on time.
Since the beginning of the year, the Revenue Agency has carried out operations in high-value residential areas such as Pinamar, Mar del Plata, Mar de las Pampas, Tigre, and San Fernando.
