The company Genneia has reinforced its leadership in renewable energy generation in Argentina with the inauguration of its eighth wind farm, La Elbita, located 42 kilometers from Tandil, in the province of Buenos Aires. This park is part of Genneia's total capacity of 1,166 MW of renewable energy, of which 946 MW are attributable to its wind farms.

The La Elbita project, which occupies 1,464 hectares and includes 36 wind turbines of 120 meters in height, is the company's largest investment in the province. With an investment exceeding 240 million dollars, the plant is designed to supply large industrial users within the framework of the Renewable Energy Supply Market (MATER).

To finance this initiative, Genneia has obtained funds from both international and local sources, including an 85 million dollar loan from FMO, the development bank of the Netherlands, and FinDev Canada, for a ten-year term. Bernardo Andrews, CEO of Genneia, highlighted the importance of the La Elbita Wind Farm as a key project that reaffirms the company’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development in Argentina.

With the launch of La Elbita, Genneia consolidates its position as the leading sustainable energy solutions company in the country, reaching 20% of the installed capacity for wind generation and 13% for solar energy. In addition, the company has completed the investment through green bonds, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability.

The La Elbita Wind Farm is expected to generate 705,000 MWh of renewable energy annually, equivalent to the consumption of 175,000 homes, and help avoid the emission of more than 370,000 tons of carbon dioxide. Genneia is developing other projects, such as the Malargüe I solar park, with 90 MW, and the Anchoris solar park, with 180 MW, as part of its ongoing expansion in the renewable energy sector in Argentina.
